VP Energy is a carried partner in two partially explored licenses in the second most prospective basin in Nigeria. Located in highly prospective Anambra Basin with estimated 5 tcf prospective resources. The 2 licences cover an area totalling over 3,500 km2.
It is believed that OPL 907 and OPL 917 are capable of yielding up to ten drillable prospects of similar size to Igbariam with a probability of success ranging between 30% to 40%. The main hydrocarbon plays consist of late Cretaceous deltaic to shallow marine clastics in fault related traps.
Drilling likely to commence on the two blocks in 2012, with one well initially on OPL 907 and two wells on OPL 917.
